North Vancouver City Centennial Event, June 2007

Binkley was asked by the City of North Vancouver to hold a hand tool marble carving event at his sculpture garden June 9 & 10, 2007 as part of the City's Centennial celebrations. The weekend was rainy, as is the case in the Spring in Vancouver, but that did not stop the public from attending. Adults and children learned how to carve the classic white Italian marble from Carrara, Italy using traditional hand chisels and hammers.

This gave viewers an appreciation for the amount of work that goes into the creation of a stone sculpture, and a good time was had by all.

Binkley extends a thank you to the Centennial Task Force for inviting him to participate on the roster of Events.
